The decision to move to residential care is not an easy one. In an ideal world, and sometimes in the eyes of elderly relatives, we should be able to take care of them ourselves. But often, this just isn’t possible in an average family home, neither, ultimately, is it safe.
Cornelius House is a carefully designed residential care home, for people who are generally mobile and mentally alert, but can no longer live on their own. We have the skills, the specialist equipment and the right environment to take care of parents and elderly relatives, the way you would want to.
You’ll find Cornelius House just outside Chichester on the Fishbourne Road (A259). The entrance is set back, and the House sits up high, overlooking the extensive grounds and gardens.
Step inside Cornelius House you’ll immediately appreciate the unique environment. From the welcoming entrance lobby, wide corridors and doorways, to the well equipped rooms and bathrooms, and thoughtfully laid out communal spaces, this is a reassuringly safe place to live.
Speak to our staff and you’ll know you’re in good hands. Qualified, compassionate and approachable, the core staff has been with us for at least ten years, which gives residents and relatives a sense of stability and continuity of care. Pam Venus, our Care Manager has been working in the House for over 20 years.

Inspect our fresh clean rooms, each decorated in contemporary colours and bathed in an abundance of natural light. There are twenty rooms in all, making Cornelius House a small, close knit community.
Notice the residents; confident and alert. From the youngest resident at 74, to our oldest who is over 100, residents enjoy going out, or having friends and family coming to visit, throughout the day, so life is busy and active, and the atmosphere is friendly.
Browse the menu for home made food, and tour the kitchen, built right in the heart of Cornelius House, where you’ll meet Jeanette who has been serving up heart warming meals for over 15 years.
